Terms of Service
Last updated August 31, 2026
Read this part if you read nothing else. Gigledge produces estimates. We are not accountants, we are not your tax preparer, and nothing here is tax or legal advice. Have a licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent review your numbers before you file or make a payment to the IRS. You remain responsible for what you file and for what you owe.
1. Who we are
Gigledge (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) is software that helps self-employed people in the United States estimate quarterly taxes, track expenses, and send invoices. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does and does not do
The Service applies published IRS rules to figures you enter or import, and shows you the result. It does not file returns, does not transmit payments to any tax authority, and does not review your situation the way a professional would.
Specifically, we do not:
- Prepare, sign, or file any tax return on your behalf.
- Represent you before the IRS or any state tax authority.
- Guarantee that an estimate matches your final liability. Estimates depend entirely on the completeness and accuracy of what you enter.
- Account for every situation. Multi-state income, W-2 wages alongside self-employment, capital gains, dependents, credits, and business entities other than sole proprietorships and single-member LLCs may not be reflected.
State tax figures are approximate effective rates, not full progressive state bracket calculations. Treat them as a planning aid only.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Tell us promptly at security@gigledge.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. Your data and your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into the Service. You grant us only the licence needed to operate it for you: to store your data, process it to produce calculations and documents, and display it back to you. We describe how we handle personal data in the Privacy Policy.
5. Bank connections
If you connect a bank account, we use Plaid to establish and maintain that connection. Your bank credentials are entered with Plaid and are never seen or stored by us. We receive read-only transaction data. You can disconnect a bank at any time from the Expenses page; historical transactions already imported remain in your account unless you delete them.
6. Paid plans, trials, and refunds
- Pro is billed monthly or annually through LemonSqueezy, which is the merchant of record for the sale. That means LemonSqueezy is the seller on your receipt and is responsible for collecting any sales tax or VAT due. We never see or store your card details.
- New Pro subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the plan converts to paid automatically at the price shown at signup.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
- We do not prorate refunds for partial periods. If something went genuinely wrong, email support@gigledge.com and we will deal with it fairly.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law or to prepare a fraudulent filing.
- Scrape, rate-limit-evade, reverse engineer, or resell the Service or its calculations.
- Upload malware, or attempt to access another user’s data.
- Present our output to third parties as professional tax advice.
8. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation is accurate or complete.
Tax law changes, and it sometimes changes retroactively. We update our rules when we learn of changes, but we do not promise the Service reflects the current law at any given moment.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
We are not liable for tax penalties, interest, additional tax assessed, audit costs, or professional fees arising from your use of the Service. Estimated tax is your legal obligation to calculate and pay correctly.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of the rights of a third party.
11. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. We will give notice where we reasonably can. On termination you may export your data for 30 days, after which it may be deleted.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
